In Daniel 1:6-7 NIV:
Among these were some from Judah: Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. 7 The chief official gave them new names: to Daniel, the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abednego.

The reason for this is because their Hebrew names glorified God and the current king wanted it to honor their gods, pretty much demons. that is why later on you read Daniel wants to keep his Hebrew name to honor God.

These men were very strong believers and were not hostile, although any servants or people serving in the palace of the King had to be… well let’s say depleted of his manhood. That’s why Daniel and the others weren’t married and obviously didn’t have any kids. This was done so their wasn’t as much… competition? among other servants and for obvious reasons with the queen.

Micheal the Archangel vs. prince of the kingdom of Persia - Daniel 10:

Very interesting story! A Battle between the spirits! Oh, the wonders of what are unknown to man…
Similar to this story, F. Toriac writes in A PIONEER MISSIONARY IN THE TWENTIETH CENTURY, page 239:

“I don’t know whether I was sleeping or whether I was traveling in my spirit to another place. But i have just seen something that is still clearly before me. I was on top of the Massif de la Hotte Mountain, looking toward the valley of Les Cayes. There I saw two armies. One belonged to Satan. his army produced a huge storm with black clouds circling about his army like a whirlwind, producing lightning, thunder, hail, rain and earth tremors. It was so spectacular that it frightened me. I tried to close my eyes and turn my back so I would not see any more. Suddenly I saw another army, great and numberless. It advanced like lightning until it almost surrounded Satan’s army. From that army there came out something like a long, wide tongue of fire. I saw it attack Satan’s army with incomparable violence. As it advanced, it licked the enemy’s army until it was defeated. Then I shouted, ‘He defeated him, and I saw him no more!’ “
