The World and Our Ways…

Saturday, June 14th, 2008

What are we supposed to think? Or How are we supposed to think? Living in this world filled with sin and hatred, how are we supposed to cope? How do we prevent ourselves from falling into the worldly pattern? Is it possible to get out of it… for good?

I’ve come across these questions lately as I have found myself slightly stuck… Certain areas in my life have become habitual and I’ve become content with that… which is bad. Also I’ve been slacking on my devotion and dedication… (as you can tell by the amount of posts I’ve had lately) (more…)

Cleaning up…

Monday, June 9th, 2008

So I come back from my all-too-needed spring break - I mean really needed, I just got over being really sick, in the middle of make-up work and tests, and finishing projects and tieing up lose ends in groups that I missed out on while not being able to communicate - and I return home with my messy clothing bag and all my bag of souveniers, clumping a new pile in my room.  Then I look at my hypothetical “to-do list” and I groan…  Then I notice something my friend gave me before I got sick.

My grin slowly crosses my face as I remember what it is…

Two-Face

Saturday, December 22nd, 2007

Gotham's District Attorney Harvey Dent (Tommy Lee Jones, not Billy Dee Williams) was merely doing his job when the mobster he was quentioning in court threw a container of acid in his face. Batman (Val Kilmer) was too late to save Dent from the horrific effects the mixture had on his face and, even worse, his mind. Dent emerged from it still alive, but half of him had completely changed. He was now of two minds on every decision, and the ghastly half of his body earned him the moniker of Two-Face.Two-faced, or as some call it (meaning the Bible) double-minded. Free Online Dictionary states it as pretending one set of feelings and acting under the influence of another. Gotham’s District Attorney Harvey Dent (Tommy Lee Jones, not Billy Dee Williams) was merely doing his job when the mobster he was quentioning in court threw a container of acid in his face. comined biberade01 Originally uploaded by tehumbert@verizon.net In the world, we think certain things will give us satisfaction, but as this verse/picture describes, we will not get satisfaction. BUT there is one thing that WILL, God’s Word, the eternal living water. We will not thirst of more if we drink His water. If you’re interested in making a t-shirt out of this picture, let me know, i’m thinking about getting it made professionally.

(instead of just adding to previous posts, I am going to just making new short ones)

Self, Sin, and Satan, the three things that keep the gap between God and us growing farther apart.

Sin - revisited

Sunday, September 2nd, 2007

Everyone struggles with sin. Many are trying to simply “stop sinning”.

‘The goal here isn’t simply to NOT sin. Our purpose is to increase the shalom in this world, which is why approaches to the Christian faith that deal solely with NOT sinning always fail. They aim at the wrong thing. It is not about what you DON’T do. The point is becoming more and more like the kind of people God had in mind when were first created…’ (Velvet Elvis; Rob Bell) before the FIRST sin. (more…)
